Ive been on this group almost as long as most people, and Ive seen - TopicsExpress

Ive been on this group almost as long as most people, and Ive seen posts, varying from why people love this band as much as we all do, to random posts about how they get inspiration. Ive decided to use this particular day, October 3rd, to share why I love this magnificent band and the music they make. October 3rd, 1996, was the day my baby brother was born into this world. Long story short, my time with him was shortlived. Tanmay Rao died on April 29th, 2005 at the age of just 8 and a half, after spending 4 years battling blood cancer. I barely spent any of my time with him, what with all the treatment and the medication. But from what I did, I have and always will treasure the moments I had with him. During my mourning, I happened to stumble upon Alter Bridge, and In Loving Memory in particular. Its the fact that I could relate to this song so much in the very first listen itself which ended up with me in involuntary tears and goosebumps, that made me come to love this band so much. The emotional attachment is something that is so common for all of us when we love a band. This is one that I know I will always love for a lifetime. Today would have been my brothers 18th birthday. In India, its almost like a coming of age kinda thing when you turn 18. I spent almost the entirety of my day today listening to In Loving Memory. Apologies if this post seems like too much of an emotional outburst of sorts. I just had to share.
