Ive been reading/watching the tributes on the internet today for Robin Williams, a highly thought of human being, victim to a illness that still bears so much stigma. Having worked in mental health for a number of years, being exposed to circumstances similar to this , I have often tried to gain an understanding of what tips the finite balance to the point of no return... Mental illness does not discriminate, its not always physically visible like other illnesses. I hope that his death is not in vain, and helps raise awareness of mental illness. You just never know what goes on behind closed doors, a small amount of kindness and understanding may be the catalyst for someones recovery, who you may not even know is suffering!!!!
