Ive been reading work from the Irish poet William Butler Yeats - TopicsExpress

Ive been reading work from the Irish poet William Butler Yeats tonight, and thinking of the many horrific and widely publicized/simultaneous wars occurring throughout the world now, in August. And one of my favorite poems by W.B Yeats is A Second Coming,(arguably an end of August poem with respect to his lunar-based mysticism detailed his book A Vision - an impacting yet obscure work I read multiple times, many years ago) - perhaps also a phase 28 poem written to reflect the end of a completed gyre (hard G) cycle (August is phase 26, 27, 28) and the beginning of a new cycle (phase 1, all of September, in his 28 phases): ...Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity.. Even after multible readings, I am always fascinated by the prophetic nature of the work: youtube/watch?v=nXe6JakBwkk&feature=youtube_gdata_player
