Ive been struggling with recovering from recent spinal cord surgery. Trying to stay positive but....issues persist! Little issues to big issues but after 47 years of issues they become a life. The most recent complication is spinal cord fluid flowing from my incision. Yeah...eewwww!! Called my Doctor and was ready to drive back to Houston to be re-admitted, opened up and re-surgicalized! Not too fast. He says, It looks like LULING is halfway between us right?....and there is a BBQ place there to. Why dont we meet there (on a Saturday) and take care of this? I say.......OK, but I need to ask Jody. She is as perplexed as I am but we load up head to Lulining BBQ and he and his bride drive up within minutes of our arrival. Long story short...he lays me out in his Toyotas front seat, takes out a baggie of stuff, sutures me right there to stop the flow. Conducts a little small talk to make me feel good about what just happened and said....Lets go eat! We had a great lunch, got to know each other even better. (Ive known him 20+ years.) After an hour or so we parted. I wasnt flowing any longer and they were chomping at the bits to go to BUCCEES and shop! Soooo, 2 stories here; 1) BBQ restaurant parking lots are for more than just parking and 2) the next time you shop at BUCCEES be patient with the old guy in line buying all of the unnecessary c _ _ p.......he may be a world famous Neurosurgeon who just drove 3 hours to save someones life and shop at BUCCEES! That Jesus.........Hes a funny guy sometimes! BTW....12 days out and Im doing well on my long path back to being.....DJ. Jody has been magnificent!!!
