Ive been working on reviewing a few excellent stand up specials thatve come out the last decade just to get some much needed practice writing. I started by making a list of the most impressive shows organized alphabetically and by year. I figured Id share what Ive got so far from the last couple years just in case anyones looking for something funny to watch or has anything I should add. :) I dont have any for 2014 yet but... From 2013 I loved: Beta Male - Kumail Nanjiani Buried Alive - Aziz Ansari Far From Finished - Bill Cosby The Fartist - Brian Posehn I Come In Peace - Maz Jobrani Madigan Again - Kathleen Madigan My Girlfriends Boyfriend - Mike Birbiglia Oh My God - Louis C.K. Thinky Pain - Mark Maron And 2012 was a great year for stand up: An Evening Of Comedy In A Fake Underground Laboratory - Eugene Mirman Animal Furnace - Hannibal Buress Dangerously Delicious - Aziz Ansari Finest Hour- Patton Oswalt Fully Functional - Jim Jefferies Mr. Universe - Jim Gaffigan New In Town - John Mulaney The Special Special Special - Maria Bamford Standup Comedian - Demetri Martin Sticky Change - Josh Blue Whiskey Icarus - Kyle Kinane These were all video recordings which leaves out many of the VERY funny specials that only come as audio recordings, but hey: good start, right? :D
