Ive decided to submit an application to be a speaker at the local TedX. Im still working on the Why is this topic important section, but here is what Ill submit about my qualifications... Talk Title: Decrypting Social Intercourse About Me: In todays global culture you need to become a multicultural communicator. I have had the honor to dine with the Ambassador of Qatar, then subsequently attended the wedding of a Qatari government official. After receiving my MBA from Liberty University, a Governor in Yangzhou, China (a personal friend) asked that I assist his district in marketing to foreign companies. While there, I developed many relationships, both with officials from various governments and representatives of Chinese corporations. In contrast to these high profile cultural exchanges, I have also spent time in Egypt teaching English to disadvantaged college students. In America, I have spoken about Islam in Christian churches and about Christianity in Islamic Mosques. In addition to religious instruction, I have had the occasion to mediate dialogues between groups of Muslims and Christians, who were at times openly hostile due to cultural misunderstandings. The skills I have gained from evaluating and analyzing these experiences have shown me the necessity of properly communicating to my target audiences. The culturally diverse settings that I have been thrust into, have been the inspiration for my talks on Decrypting Social Intercourse.
