Ive had over a year since i left Operation Breakthrough. New things has taken over. Been in my place over a year, a year now that Ive been single, and 27 months sober. .. Learning as i go, has changed my thinking on so much. More time sober, more life experiences. Ive learned to not force a solution in anything that can cause even more problems. Every person works through problems and issues in his or her own way. Changes is inevitable in life, and it will happen whether you go with it or fight it. Some are unhappy in their relationship or friendship because they focus on whats missing instead of appreciating whats there. We have to try if one way isnt working, there are others. If you expect to get what you want 100% of a time in a relationship, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Healthy relationships are built on compromise, and it takes work on each person’s part to make sure that there is a reasonable exchange. Every person works through problems and issues in his or her own way. If you approach your partner with the attitude that things have to be your way or else, it will be difficult to reach a compromise. It’s all right to have strong convictions about something, but your partner deserves to be heard as well. Working together is must. Meeting them half way. You are more likely to get your needs met if you respect what your partner needs, and compromise when you can. The reality is people mess up, dont let one mistake ruin a beautiful thing. Dont lower your standards to keep anyone, if theyre not making u happy, its time to find someone who does. Take what you learned from the past and apply it to a new beginning, wounds heal, hearts mend and time moves on.....bring on the next year. Thanks everyone who does read.
