Ive heard before that some fans wanted a picture with Jack and he ran away....maybe true, maybe not but if he did run away, I dont blame him. I have a vague understanding of that kind of attention. I used to cosplay sometimes and it was nice in a way and I was never mad at anyone who came up to me at conventions for a picture. I understood that Id Id probably get some attention and people wanting my picture if I cosplayed. I was definitely not the most popular person there or anything but it was a degree of attention I wasnt used to.....and being stopped for photos often enough CAN get tiring when you want to get somewhere in time for something or youre trying to eat food or pay for something or whatever. I got stopped for pictures sometimes when I was trying to eat food or when I was buying something. I mean they did ASK but it was a bit weird that people would try to bother me when I was obviously not in the best situation for a photo. At least in my case though if I got really really tired of it I could go somewhere and take the costume off. Then people would ignore me again....although I did end up getting a bunch of random friend requests from people I didnt know after conventions would end because people would see me getting tagged in photo albums from the convention in my cosplay and theyd start sending friend requests which I always find a bit weird how anyone would want to be friends with someone theyve never actually talked to AT ALL. If they tried to talk to me first for a while through messages that was okay...it was just the sudden friend requests without them so much as saying Hi. to me first. Just strange. I bet everyone gets some of those though right? Anyway, Im getting a little off-topic here but with Jack hes not even in a costume when people are trying to take his photos. Hes walking around trying to do normal things. I cant imagine what it would be like if I got people coming up to me when Im not cosplaying at a convention. There were a few fans at the conventions I went to that didnt even ask my consent before physically grabbing me. It wouldnt surprise me if Jack has experienced that. It seems to be a common thing that happens....Ive seen a lot of other cosplayers saying they have experienced it and cosplaying gives you pretty much a minor taste of what celebrities probably get REGULARLY. There are a few cosplayers who get a ton of attention even....I know one cosplayer who says she gets about 50 messages a day on Facebook from people asking her if she wants to hang out, etc. I mean they are mostly nice messages shes getting....but its not even humanly possible for her to respond to all of them. Shes actually avoided Facebook quite a bit because of it. If Jack does run from anyone who wants his photo, they probably shouldnt take it personally....there are a lot of reasons why someone might avoid something like that. I doubt it means that he hates the person who wants a photo with him. How can someone hate someone they dont even know? Anyway, just thought Id make this post since I have a slight understanding from personal experience and from seeing the experiences of some of my cosplay friends who are more involved with cosplay than I am and have experienced an even higher degree of this kind of attention.
