Ive hurt, they must pay! Its my life I choose to forgive or not. Really? 1. Forgiveness ceases to optional if you are born-again. Its not a suggestion but a command. 2. It is because God knows people will hurt us and treat us un kindly that is why He asked us us to forgive them. When Peter was talking to Jesus he asked, Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me .. meaning not only strangers will hurt you but those you love and those who love you will hurt you. 3. Only the merciful obtain mercy. So as you keep holding peoples faults against them you are destroying your own destiny cos no one can make it without mercy! 4. We always talk about how people have hurt us forgetting the myriads of people who we have hurt, broken their hearts and perhaps have changed their lives if God doesnt intervene forever. This our self righteousness annoys heaven. 5. You keep deceiving yourself Mark 11v25 is not for you. How come Mark 11v23-24 is for you but not v25. Do you understand Context at all? You cant twist scriptures to suit your evil intentions. 5. Faith works by Love so you will be wasting time with all your allnights, seed sowing, tithes, confessions, declarations if you are resentful, bitter or are walking in unforgiveness towards anyone. 6. The only thing that makes a man fail from the Grace of God in Hebrews 13 is bitterness. Even if your name is Grace, you will cut yourself from Grace through bitterness I know its not earned but you cant receive it with bitterness. 7. There is not a single person who had a Hell experience and not see people with Hatred, unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment there. 8. Even under the law, God says vengence is mine, I will repay. So why are you planning to repay? Refusing to forgive means we believe the hurt caused us in much greater than what God can do for us. 9. The Bible says whoever hates his brother abides in death. It means even if you are born-again and you permit unforgiveness you will experience things folks in death experience. No wonder many illnesses are associated with unforgiveness, things wont work well and the devil will mess you up. The servant who refused to forgive his fellow servant was handed over to the tormentors. Many of us are in church yet the tormentors have a field day in our lives. 10. When it comes to achieving our personal goals, writing a difficult exam, getting a visa or a job or marrying we say we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us but When it comes to forgiving others we say it is not easy. Hypocrisy on a highway with no speed limits. 11. God is just and will not ask us to do what we cant do. If folks who were not yet born-again were asked to forgive how much us born of God, having the Holy Spirit and the Love of God shed abroad in our hearts. 12. Yes I know you are hurt, disappointed and all but it is possible. God can heal your heart and turn things around. Keep praying for those who hurt you, Wish the best for them. Refuse to speak ill of them. Ask God to have mercy on them and bless them with things beyond what you even desire for yourself and you will be shocked how quick you will heal. 13. May God heal you and bless you as you read in Jesus name. We are called to Love like Him and forgive like Him. Love doesnt keep record of wrongs. Forgive like God!
