Ive just popped in to wish everyone who has supported all the COCOA events, sponsorships and competitions a very happy Christmas. Also to say, weve just donated £500 to Marianne Jackson who rescues dogs from pounds. Remember Lou, my lovely Whippet Cross? It was Marianne who put the photo of Lou on facebook, Marianne who saw him cold and frightened and took photos of him, Marianne who went back to take more photos, Marianne who wanted to save him so much, Marianne who drove him the lovely Amy Dean who fostered him. It was Dame Kerry Elliman ( she has rescued and rehomed over 6000 dogs and we want her publicly recognised) - Kerry Elliman and the wonderful Birmingham Greyhound Protection who agreed to take him on and pay for his upkeep until he was rehomed. Without Marianne, Lou would be dead, his last days spent cold, frightened, hungry and abandoned in a pound. Lou will never be cold again, Im making sure of that, he has many coats and is currently sporting a pink Paisley sixties style number they sent the wrong colour!) A week ago Marianne rescued an abandoned pup, but it couldnt be saved, it died of Parvo. Now Marianne needs help, she has other rescue dogs with Parvo. COCOA was proud to help.
