Ive learned a lot of great things about myself and the world by running an independent filmmaking meetup. Ive learned that I can organize, lead, teach, moderate, resolve, redirect, and manage at a far more effecive level than I had imagined. I have learned that I can generate interest, engagement, respect, and results that create even more interest in what we are doing as a collective. Im not getting paid a dime for this but everyone in the group is learning and doing all the time, and it is paying off for each person who gets involved. Were now in the process of submitting our first film to a festival, weve put a second one mid-way into the development channel and we are looking at new projects to create.
