Ive not yet read the primary research on this. No idea as to study design and how a 5-10% difference in food intake/weight gain was really calculated. BUT, all that aside, it seems like periodicity in both amounts and types of foods is a pretty solid strategy. My only hesitation with intermittent fasting is that the folks willing to do it are also the folks willing to do Crosssfit Endurance in the morning, some OLs in the afternoon, then some tumbling in the evening. Said another way: IF tends to appeal to extreme personalities (Hi! Im Robb, Im an extreme personality...) which means folks take what was a therapeutic stressor and turn it into a neutron bomb filled with some Agent Orange.
