Ive received a number of messages from concerned people today about possible power outages. I asked the Councils CEO to follow up on this to see if we can find out what suburbs (if any) will be affected and when, and the information we have obtain is as follows: The power outages are actually controlled by another body - the Australian Energy Market Regulator - and theyre the ones that make the decision about what suburbs will have power outages and when. They dont give the power company any warning, so sadly we wont know in advance. That said, IF there is a power outage it will only be for about 30 minutes to an hour. That is consistent with the power outages around Victoria today.
