" I’m working on behalf of Justin Granier who is currently incarcerated at the Louisiana State Penitentiary serving a life without parole sentence since the age of 19 for a murder that he did not commit. Everyone should be held accountable for their own actions; however, the state of Louisiana punishes individuals based on the actions of other by utilizing a blanket justice system that is fundamentally broken. Although Justin made a poor decision in who he associated himself with that night, he never had a gun in possession or took part in the planning or carrying out of the act. If anything his charge should have been as an accomplice at best, but instead he was charged as the murder despite the actual gunman being tried and convicted as the perpetrator prior to Justin going to trial. We need your help and support in helping to give Justin another chance at freedom! He has already served 12 years and shouldn’t have to spend the rest of his life paying for the actions of another.
