I’ve come to a place in my journey with the Lord where my greatest desire is to understand His convictions. I never want to be without them or ignorant. By them we grow and prosper spiritually. They are gentle rebukes that remind us how much we need God’s truth to survive in this world. Thank God for our Teacher; Holy Spirit. I know that God does not always speak the same message to every heart, and certainly He speaks in many ways. But He is always conveying messages to people! One thing that never changes is the Truth of His Word and teachings need to be confirmed by that. We need revelation, and to always use discernment! “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1). I have one of those inquiry minds; kind of like curious George or Sid the science kid. Now I know it’s impossible to know everything this side of Heaven; or to obtain even a fraction of God’s wisdom and knowledge. But I do have a lot of questions for the Genius of all Geniuses: God! Some people say, “Oh, you mustn’t question God?” Why not? He knows everything? The world is seeking answers everyday, usually out of fear, and then coming up with their own theories. Some pretty foolish ones too! Even so they still satisfy a lot of people. Not so with the church of Jesus Christ. Jesus said to those who would have the indwelling of His Holy Spirit, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). “Well to question God is questioning His sovereignty!” Really, where’s that scripture? Then they argue that God does not want us to know everything. Duh! Nor can we! While it may be true that God will not give answers to all our questions and if we knew everything we would not need Him, He does not forbid asking; especially when it’s with right motives and in faith. Let’s face it, we cannot know all things; but this we can be sure of and it’s scriptural: The Lord judges all peoples of the earth, both the dead and living. His judgments are based on righteousness and what we are doing and did with the precious life that He gave to each one! Did we waste it on frivolous things or did we seek His will? That conviction should be before us at all times! If we know what God offers on this side of Heaven we should always be ready to receive! He is a God of blessing and goodness but He is also the righteous judge. He has left much to our curiosity; not to dwell on, but I’m pretty sure He is okay with wondering, seeking and asking Him a few questions. Jesus says to His followers, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God” (Luke 8:10a). In a dream once, I saw the Lord planting gold nuggets in plain sight in a field. I was there with a lot of other people. When I saw a gold nugget I would run and pick it up. He placed them right were I would see them! Every time I picked one up the Lord would get so excited. Me too! “…I love Your commandments more than gold, yes, than fine gold! Therefore all Your precepts concerning all things I consider to be right; I hate every false way” (119:126-128). For us to keep asking and wanting more of Him, and less of this world, is our security in our future, now and eternally! The Complete Jewish Bible states in Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know what plans I have in mind for you,’ says ADONAI,‘plans for well-being, not for bad things; so that you can have hope and a future. When you call to me and pray to me, I will listen to you. When you seek me, you will find me, provided you seek for me wholeheartedly; and I will let you find me,’ says ADONAI.” Another version of verse 13 states, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Some things I am confident about; like God’s provisions while here on the earth. Jesus said, “For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matt. 6:32b-34). According to this passage and some others, God’s Kingdom is available to us while we dwell on the earth. We are not to worry about anything while dwelling in His Kingdom here. I’ve got that settled! Some people like to debate. I don’t, and if you are like me you would just as soon not hear people’s theories. I suppose I could be pondering, as well as wondering! That’s all! They pertain to God’s Kingdom; here, and where the Lord dwells now; where God is seated on His throne and Jesus is seated at His right hand. My wondering also pertains to the end of this world as we know it. Stick with me! I know the final Heaven will be the most glorious place ever imaginable or unimaginable and the Bible is very clear on who gets to enter in to it. This is where Jesus ascended to, and is seated at God’s right hand right now! It could also be the final Heaven that Jesus will descend from when the Eastern skies open and He returns for His followers. Scripture tells us that those who are in right standing with God are also dwelling there in spirit with Him. I am settled on this issue because from beginning to end God continually warns people to seek after His will and His ways ONLY! In doing this Jesus stated, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him (John 14:23). Okay, I know that this is referring to the earth. It is the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit in Believers. So then, when Jesus said His sheep hear His voice and follow Him (the Good Shepherd in John 10:27) are they the ones who will enter into His glory in the Final Heaven? Still pondering! “This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him” (2 Tim. 2:11). Here’s the question. Is this scripture speaking of here on the earth, there in the final Heaven, or both places? ….pondering. Isn’t this fun? This passage is from the parable of the talents from Jesus’ teaching. “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord’” (Matthew 25:21) Now, is it speaking of Heaven on earth now, or in the final Heaven? How about Matthew 25, verses 31 thru 46 where Jesus tells the parable of the Goats and the sheep? Goat are stubborn and go their own way. These apparently do not get to enter in the Final Heaven. Who exactly are the goats? It is a fact, based on the Bible, that people who refuse God’s will for their life; who do not get to know the Lord personally, and who do not receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior, are wasting away here, and WILL NOT enter into the glory of the Lord there, in the final Heaven! Some think that everyone is going Heaven, some think they will go to heaven, and some joke about going to hell. Clearly if a person is not certain where they are going, and they do not have peace in their heart they are going to eternal hell and torture! Here is the final question as it relates to Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus is talking, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Is He talking about Heaven on earth or the Final Heaven, or both? I’m just sayin and pondering myself….…the Bible is being fulfilled and it is talking to the CHURCH. The world is not interested in reading the Bible; not can they understand it unless the Holy Spirit reveals it to them. They are in fear of death! We must be confident in our understanding of where Heaven is; here, and where our final destination will be! Or else we can lead no one to Jesus! The Book of Revelation teaches about the churches’ heart! We can judge our own heart by them. I want to strive to be like the Faithful Church in Revelation 3: 7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: 8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. 13 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’ Are you still curious, pondering and wondering about some things? In your wondering are you experiencing fear, or the peace of the Lord? “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding” (Prov. 4:7)……from God’s Holy Spirit; the Genius of all Geniuses! biblegateway
