I’ve received many comments and concerns from folks in the 5th District regarding the recent changes to gate policies and closures at Redstone Arsenal. I know this has had a major impact on many of your daily commutes. On January 29th, immediately after these policies went into effect, I reached out to Army Installation and Management Command in Texas to ensure they understood the ramifications of their budgetary decisions, and the lack of efficiency and safety hazards that have ensued for the professionals who work on Redstone and others. I will continue to work with Mayor Battle, the Redstone Garrison Commander, and Army Installation Command and do everything I can to help resolve this situation.
