JALANDHAR, 28 SEPTEMBER 2014 PEOPLEs Party of Punjab (PPP) today announced the revamp of its organization with the appointment of 2500 office bearers. The revamp was announced after all its units were dissolved following the Lok Sabha elections. Announcing the new party organization, Manpreet Singh Badal, the party president said: There has been only one criterion while reorganizing the cadre -- and that has been performance. Units and leaders who have performed well have been honoured with inclusion or elevation, Manpreet said. Manpreet stated that the party reorganization had begun after the Lok Sabha elections. The entire process took 45-60 days, during which meetings were held at every district headquarter. The party waited for the auspicious day of the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Today morning, party leaders visited Khatkar Kalan and paid homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The party also reiterated its commitment to the principles laid down by its idol and strenghthened its resolve. The party cadre whoheheartedly supported the ideals as enunciated when PPP was formed four years ago. PPP will set the agenda for a rejuvenated Punjab, and the next elections will be contested on this agenda. The four-year journey has been fascinating and fulfilling and the party is extremely happy that it never wavered in its ideals. It will continue to do so with renewed vigour, Manpreet Singh Badal added.
