JANG,The Middle Belt ,the North and BOKO Haram. In 2008 after the deadly Jos riots,it became clear that the Federal Governnent under the leadership of Yar Adua were unhappy with the way Jang handled the elections in Jos North and the treatment meted out to the Hausas in Plateau. To this end Maj Gen Saleh Maina was sent to Jos to head the STF with strict orders to deal decisively and particularly with the non-Hausa indigenes. Also prominent Hausa -Fulani like Dasuki within and outside the state openly called for removal of Governor Jang from office.Others especially from Bauchi and Kano called for the partitioning of Plateau between Kano,Bauchi and Kaduna states..... The calls were rifed among law makers. Plateau then witnessed massive interferance from its northern neighbors. The first lady at that time,visited Jos North and went to where Hausas were billeted but refused to visist the non-Hausa areas.. Particularly of note were the arrests of notable terrorists who went to plateau to forment crisis,Jang cried out that these terrorists were released on being taken to Abuja by Govt agents. but no one cared or bothered. Even a case of a known Igbirra terrorist who was arrested with guns by the police only to be declared as a vigilantees. Years later after the bombing of the UN building in Abuja three of those terrorists who were arrested in Jos but released featured prominently as the master minds of the UN buildings.They were confirmed to have links with alqueda. The Igbirra vigilante that was released was also arrested for having links with Boko Haram in 2012.He was actively recruiting boko haram members in Kogi before being apprehended. One thing is for sure,in order to vilify Jang,the North went soft on terrorists,pampered them,then went hard on Jang. What is however evident is that the Northern leadership has wittingly or unwittingly fostered terrorism on the rest of Nigeria It is clear to all that the North not Goodluck started,stoked and pampered this devil.
