JEROME GOLDBERG 7:14 PM (1 hour ago) There is a City Council meeting this Tuesday at 10:00 am where Orr and his lackeys are presenting their water regionalization plan to Council. Lets be there to say No regionalizaton -- No shut-offs . Gather and Demonstrate at the Spirit of Detroit statue at 9:00 am and then attend and testify at the meeting at 9:45. The Detroit News article linked to below exposes the complete fraud by the Emergency Manager and DWSD in targetting the poorest Detroiters for shut-off. The total unpaid residential water bills are $43 million. This article exposes that homes slated for tax foreclosure just this year, owe a total of $21 million of that $43 million. The bulk are huge bills that are obviously in empty homes where the water is running. The Emergency Manager and his $126 million in consultants, Mayor Duggan, along with the DWSD leadership, either were too stupid to figure this out or are using the water shut-offs as part of their deliberate plan to empty the poor out of the City. That is on top of the $537 million in termination fees paid to the banks from water bonds that were supposed to go to infrastructure repair. Come to the City Council Meeting this Tuesday. No regionalizaton -- No shut-offs. Fire the whole incompetent lot. Make the banks pay. Hire our youth to shut off water in vacant buildings so all of our rates get reduced.
