JESUS, THE PRINCE OF PEACE! For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6(NIV) My beloved, Many ages, before the actual birth of Jesus Christ, one of the many names given to Him by Prophet Isaiah was the ‘Prince of Peace’ Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh! Jesus is called the Son of God. As God is the Founder of peace, His son has been called the ‘Prince of Peace’! That is why, all people who restlessly yearn for peace recognize Him as the ‘Prince of peace’ What a great joy! God knows that there is no real peace in this world. The world is full of animosities, murderous hostilities and discord, as it is under the control of the devil; he is ruler of this world (John 14:30). The whole world lies under the sway of the wicked devil (1 John 5:19). That is why Jesus promised: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you”(John 14:27). Beloved! If God had not sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to the world, we would have been in darkness with no deliverance. In our life, without our Saviour beside us, where would we be? For when we were in need, He supplied our needs according to His riches in glory. For when we were sick, His nail pierced hands touched and healed us from our sickness. For when the storms of life raged against us, He calmed the storms with just one word. Jesus’ purpose in coming to earth was to achieve reconciliation between the Father and sinful mankind by paying our sin debt in full through His death on the cross. Now, when we trust Him as our personal Saviour, He continues to bless us abundantly and prosper us. He will abide with us forever. Be of good cheer! Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus, I thank and praise You for coming to this world to deliver me from darkness. Lord, I surrender my life to You. As You did the will of the Father in obedience, help me to do His will in obedience. Unlike the world that celebrates Christmas without You, let my celebrations be focused on You and bring joy to You. Bless me abundantly in life, fill me with Your divine peace and use me as a channel of blessing to others. I give You all glory, honour and praise. Amen
