JESUS WALKS IN THE MIDST OF HIS CHURCH – JULY 2013 Re 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches The Holy Spirit describes the church as candlesticks or lampstands among whom Jesus walks. The word walk is the Greek word “peripateo” which means to tread all around, i.e. walk at large (especially as proof of ability); figuratively, to live, deport oneself, follow (as a companion or votary) [Strong’s Concordance]. Jesus walks in the midst of His church – this is comforting. We are not alone. What is he doing in the midst of us? He walking in the midst of us is a proof of His ownership of the church. Also, He is among us to accompany us in whatever we do. He is in our midst speaking words of comfort and encouragement to us; guiding each step that we take. Jesus is in our midst. There is no need for fear. You may be facing some challenging situation right now – things may not be working as you wanted. Jesus is with you. You are not alone. He is not sitting on the fence looking at you. Rather He is the one working behind the scenes to fulfill His will in your life. Be encouraged! Be strong!
