As a global distributor of oil and gas flow control products we purchase more than 60% of our product from outside the US and approximately 90% from China. We sell our products to both US 55% and International locations 45%. We are involved in the supply and manufacture of valves, actuators, and piping materials to the oil and gas, pipeline, refining, and process industries. The Company provides sourcing of products manufactured by other companies, as well as its own Universal Flow valve product line which is manufactured through relationships it has developed with several third party manufacturers in Asia and Europe. The Universal Flow branded products include ball, butterfly, cash and forged steel, ply, instrument, duo-check wafer, safety relief, and choke valves; and pipeline closures, compressor and tool packages, flame arrestors, hose assembles and fittings, pig launchers and receivers, safety equipment, winches and hoists, pumps and spare parts, insulating joints and hand and power tools. The Director of Global Supply Chain/Purchasing will create, implement and manage responsible training and required controls for all Trade compliance activities, Purchasing functions, Logistics and Inventory Management activities. - This individual will create and maintain and update the corporate compliance manual and associated documentation based on with CBP regulations and other related government agency rules. You will drive key initiatives across the company with successful results. Influencing and team building skills are essential for the success of this position. This person must be a customer focused individual. This position requires strong self-motivation and project management skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work closely with technology to develop automated solutions for complex international problems. - In charge of developing and presenting import and export compliance education classes, Manage and maintain the implementation of the corporations import/export compliance management software platforms and drive NAFTA compliance including content calculations and product categories. - Stay current with trade compliance regulations and advise corporate management on trends and changes to import and export compliance regulations affecting business decisions. Develop, implement and maintain corporate wide import/export and trade compliance policies, procedures and work instructions to support worldwide business units. - Manage the purchasing function which includes supplier management, negotiating supply contracts, and ensuring cost competitive supplier benchmarks; develop supplier measurements and corrective actions with quality director. Also provides support for freight forwarding activities and other logistics activities. - Manage inventory levels, coordinating with purchasing and sales department to develop and implement the SIOP planning tool. Responsible for Global inventory management including inventory at foreign sites. Work with finance organization to review slow moving and obsolete inventory, assist in the development of redistribution of inventory. Assist in the coordination of annual inventory stock takes.
