Senior Mechanical Engineer – Downhole Tools C&J Technologies *Please have all relevant downhole tool engineering and wireline and/or LWD experience CLEARLY explained in detail as it applies to your previous positions and/or Projects. The senior mechanical engineer is responsible for developing and supporting Downhole tool engineering products that are used currently by C&J Energy to deliver services to customers. The senior mechanical engineer will work with Operations and Sales personnel to understand the product requirements and then work independently or within a team to develop a product that meets the requirements. The senior mechanical engineer will develop and oversee testing programs to verify product performance. They will work with Manufacturing to assure the product is manufacturable and cost effective. The senior mechanical engineer may manage large projects and supervise the designers and technicians that make up the project team. Essential Responsibilities Design, test, and evaluate mechanical products, equipment, and systems, primarily downhole tools, Wireline and/or LWD products to meet client and C&J requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles. Interface with sales, marketing, and operations to develop detailed requirements for new products. Visit field locations to oversee and assist in product testing and evaluation. Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Assist drafters/designers in the development of products, using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines, tools, and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications. Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs. Establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule, and supply of materials required to maintain machines, tools, and equipment in the prescribed condition and work with manufacturing and suppliers to facilitate product manufacture. Participate in and lead team efforts to continually improve the product development process. Performs related work as required. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering 15+ years industry related experience in downhole hi –temp hi-pressure tools plus wireline and/or LWD Understanding sustaining process with in downhole tool maintenance. Good interpersonal skills and communication. Authorized to work in the United States Knowledge in downhole tool operation Project Management skills to manage a project with multiple team members. Demonstrated competence for technologies required to develop required products. Knowledge of the services and operating conditions for products in development. Good communication skill and team work.
