JOB: Carrier Procurement Representative, Mississauga, Ontario •Source carriers and negotiate with carrier base to move available loads (truckload, flatbed and intermodal) •Schedule pick-up and delivery appointment times •Communicate effectively with carriers and build carrier relationships via telephone, posting services (DAT, Internet Truckstop, etc.) and other methods as needed •Build strong liaison relationships with companys customer base: •Maintain reliable communications with customers regarding changes in pick-up and delivery schedules and potential service failures •Communicate customer problems, needs, leads and inquiries to the sales force •Quote customers on new lanes when requested •Communicate with regional capacity manager in the event of any issues •Recommend process improvements and implement once approved •Document orders thoroughly in the computer •When possible, pre-plan the use of carriers and equipment for optimal efficiency •Dispatch drivers •Track/trace shipments when requested or time permits •Assist in P.O.D. retrieval •Understand and support the goals, policies and procedures of the company •Maintain confidentiality of company information QUALIFICATIONS • Exceptional customer service focus and skills • High-energy, positive attitude • Organizational and scheduling skills • Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel • Ability to learn companys TMS software • Minimum 18 months of transportation-related experience • Experience at a non-asset based transportation logistics company preferred • Minimum high school diploma or GED; four-year degree preferred TO APPLY This position has been listed in the CFM Career Finder Marketing jobs database.
