JOB OPENINGS:- JOB OPENING:-SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER(JAVA) JOB LOCATION:-NETHERLANDS(AMSTERDAM) One of our client in Amsterdam is looking for a Senior Software Developer to help support and maintain web - based bespoke applications. The applications used is a variety of Java and Oracle technologies, and are in the process of being normalized to use the latest Java/Spring/Hibernate stack. Their next Senior Software Developer is responsible in maintaining all applications that exist including the migration from older technologies to newer technologies, as well as working on new and updated applications. As a senior member of the team, it is expected to: mentor other developers, help with architecture development and implementation, and help communicate and implement development strategies. Job Profile for Senior Software Developer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Design and develop software solutions compliant with the architectural blueprints and in - house technologies - Support Commercial activities including technical proposal writing, solution scoping, and work estimation - Performing feasibility studies to determine whether requirements are best by new custom solutions or commercial off the shelf products to be integrated - Advising clients on the most effective way to implement their ideas or resolve a business problem - Develop readable software along with any needed inline documentation (comments, javadoc, rdoc, etc). - Provide self - tested software - Work with Support Developers on emergent client issues - Interact with remote developers and testers in other company’s offices - Continuously update software knowledge and skills - Produce and maintain required internal technical documentation, including release and install documentation - Mentor other Software Developers, Junior Software Developers and Support Software Developers to help them grow their technical capabilities - Proactively look at how to improve systems using development best practices - Have a deep understanding of in - house technologies - Perform the role of a Technical Lead on assigned projects - Understand enough business logic to help steer applications in the manner the customer/client wishes Candidate Profile for Senior Software Developer - Must be Fluent in English both written and spoken - Must have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training or work experience - Must have 5+ years developing software applications in Java - Knowledge and proven use of frameworks including Spring, Struts and Hibernate - others - Excellent Skills in Java 1.5+, Java web Framework (Spring, Struts, Stripes, etc.) - Proficient in utilization of automated build tools, Continuous Integration tools, VCS, - Comfortable using/managing/manipulating/generating XML - Strong HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills - Desirable skills in Additional programming languages such as Spring 2.x and 3.x, Struts 1.x and 2.x, Hibernate, Oracle 10g and 11g PostgreSQL, Maven/Ant, Jenkins/Hudson, Subversion/Git, Serialisation (Hessian, Burlap, SpringHTTP Invoker), REST/SOAP using JSON/XML and jQuery 1.x - Experience on full life cycle: different releases; testing; bugs; management of documentation - Excellent analytical and problem solving skills - Ability to work as part of a small and dynamic team - Willingness to learn and grow - Self - starter - Positive attitude.
