JOB SKILLS WORKSHOP Description: Are you between the ages of 16-24? Looking for a way to help pay for college? Are you interested in a summer, seasonal, or part-time job? Not sure what kind of jobs are out there or which one is right for you? Now is your chance to obtain valuable job training and work experience essential to a successful future! Become job-ready by participating in a LA Youth at Work Job Skills Workshop. Learn the skills you need to get the job. Attend a Job Skills Workshop to help you prepare for their selection process. A job skills workshop will help you: o prepare your resume o answer interview questions o complete an employment application o understand the importance of phone/email and social networking etiquette o search for a job! Prepare yourself for a job! Tuesdays from 1 – 4pm on June 18th, July 16th, and August 20th at Employment Development Dept, 13160 Mindanao Way, Room 207, Marina del Rey, CA 90292 - (across from Jerry’s Deli.) Be sure to register for a workshop ahead of time. Space is limited and parking will be validated by EDD. Please read the signs in the surrounding areas and with the metered street parking. We encourage you to use public transit: metro.net What you need to do to participate: 1. Enroll in HIRE LA’s youth program; visit: layouthatwork.org and click on ‘Become Work Ready’; once on the new page, click on ‘Enroll Now’ or click on the following link: hirelayouth/youthenrollment 2. Once you have enrolled, review the dates listed at: layouthatwork.org/JSW.html. 3. Register for a workshop by clicking: Register for this Event Now - Be sure to select the workshop date in the dropdown menu 4. Once registered, bring a copy of your resume, if you have one, and a pen to take notes 5. Once you have completed a Job Skills Workshop, follow the directions listed to the right in order to receive an appointment time to interview at an upcoming the Work Readiness session.
