JSLG is excited to introduce our 2013 class of associate attorneys. We are privileged to have these 3 join our team and are looking forward to seeing them grow and develop in the family law community. Katherine Voll (Licensed to practice in CO) University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law, J.D. University of Arizona, B.A. in Philosophy, English minor, Cum Laude Katherine joins us from Tucson, AZ, where she worked both as a clinical student representing child clients and as a Law Clerk at the AZ Attorney General’s Office, in the Child Support Enforcement Division. She also served as a U.S. Marine in San Diego, CA and Iwakuni Japan with tours of duty to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom managing and supervising junior Marines. She exuded a poise and confidence in her interviews that stood out among the candidates. We believe that the uniqueness of Katherine’s experience and her demonstrated commitment and passion for family law during her interviews will undoubtedly serve her clients, and the firm, well. Alison Ruggiero (Licensed to practice in CO) University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, J.D. (Ranked 15/247; Top 6%), Order of St. Ives State University of New York at Albany, M.S. in Social Work Plattsburg State University of New York, B.S. in Social Work, Summa Cum Laude Alison joins us from Denver, CO, where she has worked in various externships involving family law, elder law and juvenile delinquency law. She is currently a Law Clerk for Judge Angela Arkin and Judge Vincent White. Prior to entering law school, Alison worked as an Early Intervention Service Coordinator for six years engaging in case management for 40-45 families of children with developmental delays. She provided education and outreach while working with families to develop individualized service plans. Among other positive characteristics, her exceptional credentials and warm demeanor are an added benefit to our already growing mix of qualified staff. Erica Jacobson (Licensed to practice in CO) UCLA School of Law, J.D. University of Colorado at Boulder, B.A. in Economics, Summa Cum Laude (Ranked 4 of 229) Erica joins us from Denver, CO, where she has worked as a volunteer attorney at CO Legal Services in the Family and Children Unit. Prior to her experience as a volunteer attorney, she worked as a Family Law Clerk at the Law Offices of Lee W. Salisbury in Pasadena, CA, where she handled cases of family law litigation including declarations, interrogatories, order to show cause, financial disclosure documents, marital settlement agreements and premarital settlement agreements. She also worked as a Law Clerk for the City Attorney of Los Angeles assisting daily in a high-volume arraignment court, conducting victim interviews in domestic violence cases and preparing protective orders and order modifications. We were drawn to her willingness to hit the ground running, as evident by her strong educational and experiential credentials. She is eager to learn and get into the courtroom as soon as feasibly possible.
