JUNE 27 solemnity : SACRED HEART OF JESUS The Sacred Heart of Jesus is an emphasis on the biblical fact that as prophesied, not a single bone of Jesus was broken during His torture and death by holy crucifixion, but His Sacred Heart was pierced by the tip of the lance. To make sure Jesus was dead hanging from the cross, the soldier was commanded to pierce Jesus Christs body at the side with the lance.
