JUST FOR FUN THE DAY N THE LIFE OF THE RACEHORSES IN MY STABLE 3.30am. 6 days a week Lights on. get their small feeds ready n put in all 29+ feed bins. Change their rugs from night rugs to track riding rugs (woollies) if its cool that is, if its warm keep them naked. Pick up stables n rack down yards making sure wet spots r dug up n flipped n there is no poo left in yard. Clean water bowls fill up with fresh water. Take out the first horses n put them on the walking machine for a few minutes just to warm them up n get those muscles n joints in motion. Take them off walker n walk down to the track. Tie them up until its their turn to work. Theyll either get a saddle on n do some track work or theyll get lead n trott a few laps next to the pony. Some horses go on the water walker n some horses will just swim, When they have finished being ridden or lead, time for a roll in the sand roll. They love this. Wash them down get all the sand off, time for a swim in the pool to cool down n relax their muscles. Rinse the pool water off, then scrap the water off, wash the sweat off their heads n towel dry, put woollies back on. Take them home, put them back onto the walking machine to cool down. Once they have had a few minutes on walker take them off n put back in their clean yards with full feed n some hay. 6amish mark down which horses have lost shoes, which horses need their teeth done n which horses r sore. Which horses have had enough n time for a rest in the paddock and Organise appropriate treatment for them. start grooming the horses make sure all horses tails r free of knots n manes r tidy. Make sure bridle paths r neat n manes r straight. Groom body, Check heals for greasy heal check legs for cuts or scrapes. Treat as needed. Put on appropriate rug for the whether, and continue until all horses have been groomed, And or treated. 7.30/8am Sweep up stables, pick up stables again making sure all poo is removed. Morning Finished. Return in afternoon Take off rugs (if on) put horses on walking machine to stretch legs. Pick up yards (remove poo) n rack down sawdust. Take horses off walker n put back in yards place appropriate rug on for the night put in feeds n hay. Take selected horses down to the track pool for a swim. Generally the horses that r racing that week/weekend. Take back to stables put back on walker to dry then back in their clean yards, put on appropriate rugs. Sweep up walking machine n stable area, pick up poos again then its all over for the night. Make sure all stable doors r closed n all horses r safe. N do it all again in the morning. I dont know about u but I dont know any other animal that has their own personal trainer, their own riders, personal swimming pool, their own training tracks, water walker, walking machines, their own personal cleaner, hair dresser, chef, dentist, chiro, vet, farrier, n groomers.. And people dont think that these creatures r treated nicely in stables. Sorry but if I was treated like this I think Id b pretty damn happy. Which these horses r. This is what happens in my stables this is a happy place to work for human n horses. Happy to answer any questions
