Jack Fields Elementary gave Jane Beno and I a wonderful retirement party from our very special co/workers. It felt so good to be honored by so many past and current people we work with. There were so many nice gifts, especially the quilt made by Cathy DeWoody. That woman has been working so hard at school and then to think she made both of us absolutely gorgeous quilts! Mine is musical and I will cherish it always ! I dreaded the gathering because I hate being in the spotlight but it will always be a treasured memory. A book was donated to our library in honor of each of us and numerous gifts and gift cards! So generous and thoughtful. Thanks so much to everyone! On a side note: I told my students that I was going to retire and one of the 2nd graders asked what retire meant. Then another student piped up and matter of factly stated that it means shes gonna die. I laughed so hard and assured them I wasnt planning to die anytime soon. Kids say the darnest things! I am half deaf , am having cataract surgery next week and knee surgery around the corner but Ill be fine. I sure will miss everyone though. 🎶🎶🎉🎁😊😳😢😘
