James 4:6-10 NLT And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor. Yes, we are ALL sinners & fall short of Gods standard - as the same Bible says; but WE need to humble ourselves before the Lord & He will lift us up in glory. Not the kind of glory that puffs us up, feeding our pride; nurturing our sinfulness. But His Glory. It is glory - true honour; to be called His own, & have His Spirit live in us. Yes amazing glory; when Christ shall come to take His own, & we be with Him for eternity. We need to humble ourselves - forget what this world has got to offer, & fix our gaze to true honour & true glory found in Christ alone. He is our honour & glory.
