James, Sen. Elizabeth Warren is standing up to the Obama administration and the U.S. Trade Representative’s office—demanding they release trade documents used as part of negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Click here to sign the petition from Daily Kos and CREDO supporting Sen. Warren’s request. Here’s what Sen. Warren had to say about the government hiding the documents used in trade negotiations: "I appreciate the willingness of the USTR to make various documents available for review by members of Congress, but I do not believe that is a substitute for more robust public transparency. If transparency would lead to widespread public opposition to a trade agreement, then that trade agreement should not be the policy of the United States." - Sen. Elizabeth Warren Trade affects virtually all aspects of American life—from the food we eat to the jobs we create. New trade deals are too important to be negotiated in back-room deals. Please join Daily Kos and CREDO by signing the petition to the U.S. Trade Representative urging the public release of documents requested by Sen. Warren to show her we have her back.
