Jans musical talent was legendary. She bugged her parents to get her a piano until they finally succumbed when she was 5 years old. Then after we got married, my Dad gave her an antique accordion which she taught herself to play. One day she told me it was pretty easy except the fingering was going in the opposite direction from the piano. Then she realized she had taught herself to play it upside down. Her musical ability was passed on to our offspring as well. We bought a rinky tink piano for $40 when we moved to North Carolina and Erin started playing rock n roll songs by ear on it when she was 5 years old. When Robyn was in junior high, her mother and I attended a performance by individual students that was boring as all get out but everyone applauded politely. Then Robyn came on and played Crazy Little Thing Called Love on the electric violin and the crowd went wild. She got a standing ovation for about 5 minutes. Unfortunately, I didnt get a recording of that but heres the next best thing: https://youtube/watch?v=zO6D_BAuYCI
