January 12th, QAC Economic Development Incentive Fund Public Meeting CENTREVILLE – Interested in starting a new business in Queen Anne’s County? Planning an expansion or have a need for capital improvements? Plan to attend the Economic Development Incentive Fund Commission’s Public Information Meeting on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at the Department of Planning and Zoning, 160 Coursevall Drive, Centreville. Individuals are encouraged to attend to learn more about the Incentive Fund Program and meet the commission members for a question and answer session. The Economic Development Incentive Fund was created with the mission to nurture existing and emerging Queen Anne’s County businesses with a primary focus on those related to agriculture, medical, start-up businesses and capital improvements for existing vacant or underutilized space. Funding cannot be utilized for salaries or government to government payments. The county will be accepting a second round of applications for the Economic Development Incentive Fund from January 15 through February 17. Copies of the 2015 Application will be available at the public meeting, online at qac.org or by calling 410-758-4418. Queen Anne’s County Economic Development Incentive Fund (the Fund) was established by the County Commissioners to aid economic development in the county by providing financial assistance through loans, grants, or a combination of both, to eligible businesses. The disbursement of the funds will be the sole discretion of the Queen Anne’s County Economic Development Incentive Fund Commission based on economic impact measured through job creation and retention; increase in production; or potential for a niche market. Projects must be consistent with the county’s development land use goals and economic development priorities and demonstrate the need for the funding.
