January 30, 2014. Prayer Walking 1. Find a safe place to walk, Ann, and I have walked no-go areas before, but we would never go alone. You want to be able to focus on God, not on if you are safe. 2. Go alone or as a group. You want no distractions so take a music player with soft instrumental praise music, remember as Jehoshaphat went out again the enemy, praise went first. “And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever. Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. (2Ch 20:21-22 NKJ) 3. As you start, realize that you need to let go of every mental distraction. If something comes up that seems important, I tell it to God and ask Him to remind me of it when we are done. Then I keep walking. 4. As you start walking, ask God to talk to you. “So the angel who spoke with me said to me, Proclaim, saying, `Thus says the LORD of hosts: I am zealous for Jerusalem And for Zion with great zeal. (Zec 1:14 NKJ) 5. Walk and listen. After you start walking, whatever comes to mind after that you need to realize God talking. He knows the spiritual history of the place where your walking. 6. Talk with Him. Respond to what comes to mind just as if He were right there, because He is. 7. Be flexible and willing to follow, this is your time to spend with God, but sometimes supernatural breakthrough can’t wait. Can you imagine this spring teams of Christians going out on the same day at the same time prayer walking their city or town, what would happen in the heavenly realms? Dr. Terrence Threadwell
