January 4, 2015. Todays Challenge Genesis 11:1 - 14:16 Remember: 1. Read the suggested passages every day. 2. Find a verse or verse that hold special meaning for you in that day. 3. Praise God and pray for others in light to the Scripture you covered. 4. Reflect on the passages meaning and possibly journal a few ideas that God might be sharing with you. Todays Reflection: God calls Abram out of Ur and what follows is God calling Abram to life eternal. God shows Abram many wonderful things and although Abram is far from perfect, God uses his life experiences to grow his faith and strengthen his resolve. It is God taking him from nothing to a vast something. God pulls on Abrams heartstrings and Abram follows. How many of us have had our heartstrings pulled upon by God and yet are still not following. This New Year is the chance to see how God is at work in our lives, bidding our blood to run hot for Him. Will we listen this year? Will we quit counting the cost and just follow? Will we trust God to meet our needs as we faithfully follow Him into, what is for us, the unknown? Not only was Abram blessed for His obedience, with daily provisions in abundance, but he was also blessed with being able to help his relatives (Lot) out and was blessed by the inhabitants of the land - Melchizedek - the king of Salem - a Christ-figure foreshadow. By following God, Abram was blessed as well as being a blessing. So today, let us follow God wherever He is leading us and let us remember Abrams faith and watch God work this year in our lives as well as in the lives of those around us. Amen and Amen!!
