Jefs Mental Mentor Advice of the Day: Reminds me of an old story where a man was looking for the best seed to plant to assure the best harvest for his corn crop. In his journey the people advised him in so many ways.....our corn is the sweetest, my corn has the highest stalks, you should taste ours, it makes the best cornbread, there are more ears of corn on our stalks, our kernels are bigger and juicier, our corn is more big resistant. Some would say the soil was more important. But the most amazing advice he got from everyone was, its too late in the season to plant now, the honey bees are going into their resting season and the growing season is gone. There are so many factors involved which will cause someones success. The greatest factor is finding a person you can trust that knows what they are doing, that will believe in you as much as you believe in them. Someone who will help you grow and part of that is knowledge. Knowledge in helping to determine what is best at the moment as the team grows and expands, knowing what strategy to be used during specific circumstances, knowing because they have been there before or theyve seen others already go through it. Also its very important to stay abreast of the trend of marketing and understanding the Y Gen and X Gen while not ignoring the needs of the Boomers. NWM is an industry and a complex profession built with more dynamics than the space shuttle. It is an art to build the future. The brush of which one paints this art is the blood sweat and tears of the artist and the student and its not simple, not for the top leaders, but for the rest we must be the strength and make them feel our position is more simple than it is. Your future is amazing, if you apply yourself to the simplistic understanding of being a great leader. Be that person who leads. Go for it. Lead. LEAD!!! :) Be the leader who has the fortitude to change the world around you. Dont over-analyze, but do your due diligence. The bees are waiting for you to plant the seed.
