Jennifer Garner: I Wish Id Waited to Marry Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are expecting a third child. By Sami K. Martin, Christian Post Reporter February 7, 2012|5:05 pm Jennifer Garner, while happily married to Ben Affleck, has stated that she wishes she had waited until she was 30 to marry. The statement comes from an interview with British paper The Sun; I wish Id known to wait for marriage until I was 30 or over. I did marry in my twenties and I found divorce a crushing experience. The 40-year-old was previously married to actor Scott Foley for four years; they married when she was only 22. After their divorce in 2004, Garner began dating Affleck and they married in 2005. The couple has two children and is expecting their third any time now. Through all of the ups and downs, Garner maintained that she kept [her] belief in marriage. In 2003 she explained her rationale for the divorce from Foley. This sounds a cliché, but we really were victims of Hollywood. Everything is speeded up here -- it is a fast-lane life, and if something is not working, it is considered best to end it without much thought. Now, though, Garner is older and wiser, less prone to the influences and pressure of Hollywood. Ben is not only my husband, he has helped me in every way. He is the base of my life. He is an incredibly loving and generous man. I expected he would be a great dad, and he is. But what really surprised me was how, when something goes wrong, he is so much calmer than I am, she said. Garner and Affleck are both well-known actors who have been through very public divorces and separations: Garner from Foley and Affleck from Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez. The Garner-Afflecks began dating in 2008 and married after dating for nine months. Daughters Violet Anne and Seraphina Rose were born a few years later.
