Jenny had a good day in the hospital given the circumstances and her condition. She looked a little more pale and her belly more distended and red around the stoma in the evening. She was very uncomfortable even after she got her pain meds. It has not been 24 hrs yet since she got started on IV antibiotics Clindamycin, so they dont expect major improvements. Given Jennys history and problems they want to get another opinion. Ultrasound looked better, no signs of a pocket with fluid build up as seen a couple of days ago but of course the question of what is causing the swelling and tenderness of her Belly remains a great concern. Jennys G/ stoma started leaking again as of yesterday/ until feeds were stopped due to distended belly and she is troubled with more gagging. We are keeping her on a 25ml/hr Pedialyte to keep her peristalsis going as we had severe motility problems just a couple of months ago. Praying to get to the root of this problem quickly so Jenny can recover and be her old self again. Unless a miracle happens overnight we are heading to Milwaukee tomorrow!
