Jeremys 10 pound tumor was removed on Feb. 22nd 1990. I still have the video and transferred it to a dvd. I did that because I still to this day cannot believe that it even happened. Jeremy went thru a very serious operation and Dr. Rettic had an assistant in with him to help. Dr. Rettic did an amazing job, it will take Jeremy some time to heal from that surgery. Dr. Mitchell will tell me there was no protocol to follow, Jeremy had outlived everyone in the time frame from 85-90 with Rhabdo stage 4 with bone marrow met.. He drew up a protocol and said Jeremy would stay on chemo until he could no longer tolerate it or he died. The doctor had no time limit to give me because Jeremy always did very well on chemo. Jeremy started his chemo, came home, and lived like he would any other month. Jeff bought Jeremy the 4-wheeler and Matt and Jeremy rode behind our house every day when Jeremy was strong enough. I would not be able to shake the vision of the 10 pound tumor, I talked to Jeremy every chance he let me about the beauty of Heaven, how perfect it would be. Jeremy asked many questions but then would change the subject. In the copy of the page, make believe with the snap of your fingers if you could change yourself....We were in the hospital, Jeremy was doing his chemotherapy, he was too weak to write but he had this little flyer that had the kids share their feelings. I asked him the questions and wrote down his answers. This is one of the pages. He answered,I would make my cancer go away. the date 6-08-1990. He would live 4 more months after sharing this answer. Jeremy truly loved life, loved his family, friends, and loved to ride. Jeremy will have a good summer, the summer of 1990. I will start to see him hold onto his stomach late in the summer when he started back to school. When I would ask him he would just say it hurts some. Sometime late in September Jeremy will be in quite some pain and Ill take him into see Dr. Mitchell. Ill stop here today. This morning I walk with some really great friends, for Curefest 2014. We are going to Stand up for the Warriors, Honor the Fallen, and HOLD ON TO HOPE! Please share some Gold and Awareness for the kids who are wishing for a cure so they can grow up.
