Jesus Christ, to whom all exaltation is rightly due, He gave up - TopicsExpress

Jesus Christ, to whom all exaltation is rightly due, He gave up His inexpressible glory to take upon Himself the humble form of humanity and perform the lowliest of services to us. He chose to be without distinction or honor and was willing to be despised and disregarded. When He laid aside His rank and dignity, He became as nothing, yet even now He is exalted above everything and everyone. In Jesus, God was born. In Jesus, God washed feet. In Jesus, God suffered. In Jesus, God died. In Jesus, God was damned. This is the ‘greater grace’: Jesus gave His life on the battlefield of war between God and man so that you could have peace. Jesus was rejected by His Father so that you could draw near your heavenly Father. Jesus’ self-humiliation means your exaltation. And so He made His Spirit to dwell in you in your baptism. You have a place at His Holy Communion Table based on His merits. And at His Holy Communion Table He gives you what He wants to give you – forgiveness for your sins.
