Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me. 17 Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. John 7:16-17 Challenged with nearly every step He took, Jesus answers rebukes those who challenge His right to say what He says. Ever subservient, Jesus proclaims that what He says is what God says, as He is sent from God to fulfill the promise made. Jesus lays before those who challenge Him the truth of His right to teach and preach, and clearly sets forth the mark that will distinguish between those who are called and those who are not. Lord, I pray thanks for the decision to count me among those called, among those who acknowledge Jesus as Your only Son, sent to bring salvation and atonement for my sins. I reject the challenge offered to those Jesus spoke, saying He is surely demon possessed. I understand that the evil one does possess those among us. I, however, choose You, Lord, and reject the teaching of Satan and reject his evil design. I have found out that in doing Your will, Lord, I find the peace and understanding promised; and, only when I veer does that peace slip away. Keep my path straight, my love pure, my adoration sincere and my devotion without blemish, I pray. Fallen, sinful and without merit on my own, You chose me, forgave me and redeemed me Lord. I do believe who You say You are. Amen
