This is the latest message I received relating to the scandal of Wester Hailes and the lack of outdoor sports facilities, in this case, a modern, civilised synthetic football pitch with cover, etc, such as can be found in every country in Europe and elsewhere. This reply from Jim Hislop on behalf of the Scottish Government is bland beyond belief. Nothing at all of any importance is contained in the message. And this from a government that wants me and possibly every person in Wester Hailes to vote for independence next year. NOT ME! I will never support such a motion following this message from Jim Hislop. If that is the message of a government that could not/does not care about the total injustice to the people of Wester Hailes then I for one want nothing to do with their campaign and I will make it my business to attack the SNP at every turn. On my website, facebook, twitter and every other means open to me. This govenrment are goind to pour £30m of our money in to an elitist football facility at the mega-rich Heriot-Watt University, while Wester Hailes has no modern, civilised outdoor facility for football. Forget the pitch at Clovenstone as the changing rooms are somewhere near a quarter of a mile away. Where and how do players and spectators at games on this pitch manage to do the toilet? In the bushes!!!! You may consider the last sentence sums up this governments and Edinburgh City Councils attitude to the deprived area of Wester Hailes. I must point out, I do not live in the area, but I care about injustice and lack of opportunity for all. I cannot stand elitism and that exists in the corridors of power in central government and local government in this city and in Scotland as a whole.
