Job Opportunity at Portage HS: Portage HS is looking for a full-time substitute teacher for 2nd semester to teach our Advanced Transportation course... the one we take the field trip to Eagle Aircraft. Right now, no one has applied and we may have to drop the course this year, which means no field trip and unhappy kids. (We had a last minute retirement and my schedule was changed to cover his classes.) In talking with my Principal, it occurred to me I should contact Eagle Aircraft and see if you have any students pilots or retirees or are in contact with anyone who be interested in teaching the Transportation class as a “Flight and Aviation course”. It would be a full time job from 7:15 to 2:45, teaching 5 classes at 47 minutes each, with about 18-22 students per class. The job would be temporary for 2nd semester (Mid Jan to the first week in June.) It could be a great opportunity for someone to make decent money educating kids about something they love.
