Job Title: Facilities Attendant Salary: $10.01 - $12.22 Hourly Job Type: Temporary Location: Rancho Cordova, California Job Purpose Benefits Supplemental Questions Under direct supervision, provides exceptional customer service by assisting the public with the rental of City facilities. This includes opening and closing facility for daytime, evening and weekend rentals, set-up of rooms and equipment, monitoring facility use, clean-up of facilities and grounds, stocking supplies, and providing information to customers regarding facility use. Incumbents work varying schedules. Note: These positions are designated as temporary and limited to 1,000 hours in a fiscal year and no more than approximately 25 hours per week. Example of Duties: The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties; however, other related duties may be assigned and performed. •Prepares, maintains and cleans-up facility for and after use by customers, which includes setup according to reservation and customer specifications, monitoring of facility use by customers and their guests, addressing safety concerns or inappropriate conduct with customers, taking down tables, chairs, equipment, stage, and other furniture and equipment used in an event, and cleanup after an event. •Stocks and monitors supplies in break rooms, employee restrooms and conference rooms. •Performs light janitorial, including empty recycling and garbage bins throughout the facility, cleaning drains, and sweep, mop and vacuum floors as required. •Escorts vendors or suppliers in facilities. •Uses a computer to enter and retrieve data, track work order status, and produce signage, emails, and reports of damage to equipment or facility. •Assists with light building and grounds maintenance involving window cleaning, pressure-washing, painting fire curbs and exterior enclosures, changing out locks, installing keyboard trays, moving and assembling furniture, replacing filters, changing light bulbs, litter removal, and planting trees. •May assist with restroom maintenance and repair as trained. •Assists with administrative work, including filing. Performs other duties as assigned. ABILITY TO: •Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing •Respond professionally and courteously to customers to resolve concerns or conflicts •Work independently with initative •Operate a computer with familiarity •Follow written and oral instructions •Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work •Learn to perform a variety of minor maintenance duties. •Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE OF: •Principles of customer service •Standard audio equipment setup and usage •Fire and safety regulations related to public facilities DESIRABLE SKILL IN: •Identifying issues or problems, appropriate solutions, and resolving them quickly •Communicating professionally with customers when unsafe situations or violations are observed Licensure, Certifications & Minimum Qualifications: Licensure or Certification: Requires possession of a current valid California Class C driver’s license or higher and a satisfactory driving record as determined by the City. Failure to maintain the appropriate California Driver’s License and endorsement may constitute cause for termination. Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that will provide the ability to perform the work. A typical way of obtaining the education and experience would be: Education: Equivalent to high school diploma. Experience: None. Physical Working Conditions: Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Requires the strength and agility to lift and carry or drag items (e.g., tables) weighing up to 50 pounds; push, pull, crawl, climb, and stand for prolonged periods of time; lift above shoulders; carry and work off of a ladder; mobility and manual dexterity to work in a standard office environment and use standard office equipment; manipulate small hand tools and squeeze power tool handles (e.g. pressure washer) for extended periods of time; walk on uneven ground outside of buildings; speech and hearing to communicate in person and by telephone; vision to read handwritten and printed materials and a computer screen; vision and hearing to adjust audio visual equipment and observe and oversee customer use of facility.
