Candidates who wish to apply must be willing to relocate to Iringa on a permanent basis. 1. PLANTATION MANAGER Purpose of the position:To plan, lead and control all plantation activities on a large plantation (1000 – 5000ha) with the help of a team of plantation foresters, contractors or own wages staff; community development officers and other technical experts. Skills and competencies required: • Proven ability to apply technical knowledge related to Silviculture and Harvesting operations. Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. • Proven ability to negotiate with procurement suppliers, contractors and the community. • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict situations between community stakeholders and a company. Demonstrated ability to manage the comprehensive supply chain for silviculture and harvesting. • Excellent ability to plan all activities, and provide for resource availability to execute the operation according to budget, schedule and plan. • Ability to formulate an Annual Operating Plan for all operations with adjacent budgets. Track record of ability to deliver on all objectives and targets as per weekly, monthly and quarterly plans. • Excellent problem solving ability through a collaborative approach. • Proven ability to mentor and coach forestry teams to develop their skills, grow their technical knowledgebase and support their career development. Proven project management abilities, ability to plan, develop Gantt charts and implement the sameand monitor progress. Requirements:Recognised Diploma / Degree in Forestry, or applied Forestry.In addition to the Forestry qualification, candidates with managerial qualifications, project management training will be at a distinct advantage. 2.SILVICULTURE FORESTER Purpose of the position:To plan, lead and control allocated plantation activities on a small plantation (2000-5000ha) with the help of a team of contractors or own ops labour, and other technical experts. The incumbent is responsible to deliver the right quantity and quality of volumes at the right time, safely and environmentally responsible and sustainable. The Forester is also responsible to manage all stakeholder and community relationships. Skills and competencies required:Nursery establishment ● preparation of the planting sites ● management of the plantation’s establishment activities including: carefully planned and monitored marking, pitting, planting and fertilizer operations ● plan, manage and monitor all weeding and pruning activities●protection of the plantation and related assets through effective management of pest and diseases, fire, grazing and encroachment●ensure effective and positive management of all community and community stakeholder relationships●infrastructure establishment and maintenance●contractor management●financial management and management reporting●people management● implementation of all FSC principles and standards● implementation all relevant Health & Safety provisions and Labour Legislation. Requirements:Recognised Diploma or Degree in Forestry, or applied ForestryAt least 2 - 5 years’ experience in plantation forestry ● Minimum requirement to have managed outsourced contractors for at least 1 year ● Minimum requirement to have coached and mentored workers for at least 3 years. 3.ACCOUNTANT Purpose of the position:Responsible for preparation of accounting information and providing high quality support service to managers/officers in the organization. Skills and competencies required: • Thorough knowledge of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment. • Excellent knowledge of the Company’s Act and related rules and regulations • Ability to effectively manage change to enhance business processes and efficiencies • Knowledge of finance and accounting software packages (Sage Pastel Evolution) • Knowledge of tax related rules and legislations, and the ability to understand tax laws and interpret these. • Proven ability to solve complex problems and communicate solutions • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Demonstrated leadership ability and team management • Strong accounting abilities and experience across all functions i.e Cash Book, Debtors, Creditors, Fixed Assets, Inventory, Loans and loan accounts, Tax and Vat reconciliations,Reconciliation of Trial Balance (Monthly) Requirements: Graduate Degree in Accounting; Post Graduate degree will be an advantage.Minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance position preferably within the manufacturing sector.
