John D. Larkins roll top desk, the property of the Graycliff - TopicsExpress

John D. Larkins roll top desk, the property of the Graycliff Conservancy, is on loan to, and being exhibited by, Larkin at Exchange (800 Exchange Street). You can find it in the lobby along the Van Van Rensselaer Street side of the building, by the elevators. The bookkeepers desk even includes a tiny secret drawer! Larkin (1845-1926) was the founder of the Larkin Soap Company, was the employer of Darwin D. Martin (Graycliff was his summer home), and another link in the Frank Lloyd Wright / Buffalo connection with his commission to Wright of the Larkin Administration Building, demolished in 1950.
