Join Cadence Theatre Companys 2014-2015 Production and Administrative Intern Team! Deadline to Apply is April 1st. Cadence Theatre Company in partnership with Virginia Repertory Theatre offers seasonal and summer internships for qualified college students, graduates and young professionals who are actively pursuing careers in professional theater. Internships are available as full-season or part-season contracts, at the discretion of the Artistic and Managing Director and Production Manager. We accept interns in the areas of administration, marketing, production and dramaturgy. The internship is designed to give aspiring professionals necessary and valuable training to gain employment in their field(s) of interest. To that end, interns are assigned projects and responsibilities that are vital to the day-to-day running of the company. Additionally, interns’ relationships with their supervisor ensure that they are not only gaining valuable skills but also receiving helpful feedback and support. Interns are selected by application and interview. We do not charge a fee for intern company membership, nor do we provide a stipend, although candidates are considered for some paid production and administrative positions. Each candidate must be at least 18 years of age and provide for his or her living, housing and transportation expenses. It is often possible to arrange course credit with the intern’s academic institution. Interns who have attended institutions such as Virginia Commonwealth University, Hollins College and Sarah Lawrence College have all received some form of credit through participation in our internship program. Generally interns must be able and willing to devote 8-10 hours per week to their areas of responsibility.
