Join The Dignity and Justice Crew at their event "Witnessing Our Collective Ethics" on July 2, 6pm, La Farge Community Room https://facebook/events/148219348699062/ "Our first gathering "Witnessing Our Collective Ethics" will explore: What ethics or values do we hold collectively? How can the holding close of our collective ethics foster our sustainability and transformation across time?" The Dignity and Justice Crew is a solidarity team of community workers, social workers, therapists, counselors, artists, and students. By positioning ourselves within a community of support we can contest isolation and individualism and uphold collective accountability and interconnectedness. We value creating a safe space for all participants through anti-oppressive and mutually supportive relationships. Self-care and competency are not enough to ensure sustainability within the contexts of social injustices. Together we aim to sustain ourselves through justice-doing. To transform the social contexts of oppression in our communities, not helping people adjust to oppression. Recognizing that private pain is a public issue. We seek to apply a critical understanding of power, privilege and oppression to our work. We are not neutral on issues of poverty, violence, abuse, discrimination and torture.
