Join us at 3 p.m. pacific/5 p.m. central/6 p.m. eastern tomorrow for a webinar to learn more about how to increase access to jobs for women with 3 experienced panelists: Françoise Jacobsohn, former manager of Legal Momentums economic security program focusing on expanding womens participation in high-paying, non-traditional employment. Among other roles, she served as a member of the New York City Mayors Commission on Construction Opportunity, established in March 2005 to ensure that women and minorities gain access to work in the construction trades. Connie Ashbrook, executive director of Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc. dedicated to promoting success for women in the trades through education, leadership and mentorship. Founded in 1989 as a small support group led by four tradeswomen (an elevator constructor, two carpenters and an operating engineer), today it has nearly 400 members, 3 programs, an annual trades career fair for women and girls, and the support of trades industry employers. Jenny Perrino, legislative director for U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio. Among other roles, she staffs the House Full Employment Caucus, whose members recently wrote to President Obama in support of updating federal regulations governing construction contractors that havent been changed in 34 years.
